Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the purpose of a Neighborhood Council?

The Neighborhood Council system enables civic participation for all Angelenos and serves as a voice for improving government responsiveness to local communities and their needs. We are an advisory body to the City of Los Angeles, comprised of volunteer stakeholders who are devoted to the mission of improving our communities and bringing government close to us.

What is the PNC?

PNC is a city-certified Neighborhood Council made up of people who live, work, own property or have some other connection to Pacoima.

What does the PNC actually do?

This is a question we receive when others hear about Pacoima Neighborhood Council for the first time.  The short answer is build, serve and represent the Pacoima community.  Come to our next meeting to see how we do this.

When are meetings?

We meet every third Wednesday at the Pacoima Community Center — located at 11243 Glenoaks Blvd, Pacoima, CA 91331 — at 6:30 PM. Agendas and minutes can be found here. Meetings can change or be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, please sign up to received agendas or cancellation notices through Early Notification System (ENS), our agendas can also be viewed at our physical posting location 11243 Glenoaks Blvd. Pacoima, CA 91331.

How do I get involved in PNC?

PNC relies on the contributions and involvement of individual members of our community.  Come to meetings, join a committee, volunteer to for an upcoming event, ask questions.

What is a stakeholder?

Any individual at least 18 years of age, who lives, works, or owns real property within the PNC boundaries is a voting-eligible Stakeholder.  Other individuals may declare a stake in the neighborhood as a Community Interest Stakeholder, defined as a person who declares a stake in the neighborhood as a community interest stakeholder and who is 18 years or older.  However, you do not have to be 18 years old to begin participating in PNC.  Please come to one of our meetings or reach out to one of our Board members to ask how you can get involved.
